All-time money list

2013 ROAR OF THE POOLS

Monday, Dec. 9th... It's all over... The bonus points have been tabulated.
Results are below.  Congrats to all the winners.  Prize money is:

Mens:  1st - $306, 2nd - $153, 3rd - $51

Womens:  1st - $252, 2nd - $126, 3rd - $42, Last Place:  $30

Grand Aggregate:  1st - $280, Last Place - $0 plus self naming rights.  :)

Friday Dec. 6th, 1PM ... the round robin is over and.... we have some winners!
Mens:
In the mens pool, nobody took any of the remaining three as their top pick.  Nobody.
Do we know curling or what?  So, the mens pool standings are final.

The winner is the InDeanious's brother, Scott, who will take home $306 with his
single-bullet entry into the mens pool.  Congrats!

In second place, we have Scott Deck who just barely passed our "no contracting
out your picks to your much more knowlegable father-in-law" rule, by pointing out
that he isn't married yet.  Congrats Scott... I hope you and the rest of the Howard
family enjoy the winnings.  2nd place = $153.

Tied at 131points we have Big Daddy Ackerman and InDeanious Clark.  Ties for
3rd place are broken via the rules below.  Rule 11 states:  " If there is a tie
for 3rd place only, the tie will be broken to determine who will get 3rd place alone.
To break the tie the top ranked teams for each person in the tie will be looked at.
First of all, person with the top-ranked team that does better in the playoffs will be
awarded 3rd place.   After that the head to head round robin records will be taken
into account. "

So, given that B. Diddy had Howard as his top pick and InDeanious had Koe,
we have to look at Draw 13, Sheet A, to see that Koe came back from a 4-0
deficit to defeat Howard, and thus the $51 3rd place prize goes to Dean!

Finally, since there is no clear loser at the bottom of the field, there is no
$30 last place prize in the mens pool.  The $30 was kept in the 1st to 3rd
place prizes.

Womens:
The women's results aren't final yet, except we know that Colleen will win
the first prize of $252!  Congrats Colleen.
However, we have three people that picked Homan as their top pick.  So, if
Homan wins the final they will leapfrog into second place (and split 2nd + 3rd
place money three ways).  If Homan doesn't win the final, then the standings
at the top will remain and Baron will get 2nd while Scott D. will get 3rd.

At the other end of the spectrum, Amber is guaranteed at least 3 more points by
virtue of Jones being in the final.  Depending where Homan finishes, DBoe may
or may not get any bonus points.  So, last place is still on the line.  However, I
don't think Amber and DBoe can tie each other so there will definitely be a prize.

Grand Aggregate
Scott D. lead wire to wire (I think) and with a 7 point lead I believe he cannot
be caught.  Fourteen entrees time $20 each = $280 prize!  Congrats!

Friday Dec. 6th .... one more draw to go, plus the playoff bonus points.

Thurs. Dec 5th ... results as of last night....

Weds, Dec 4th ... morning ... results after last nights draw:

Tues, Dec 3rd ... Standings after 6 draws.  Battle of the Scotts in the men's pool.
A bit tighter race in the womens.  Scott D. in or near the lead of both gives him an
the edge in the Grand Aggregate, opening the door to a possible Triple Crown!

<update>  I had the men's standings wrong.  Should be correct now.

Special pool for the Roar of the Rings in Winnipeg.  $30 entry for the men's, $30 entry for the women's, and an optional $20 entry for the Grand Aggregate winner of the combined score for both the mens and womens.  You may enter one, both, or all three.
Rules are the same as for the Brier/Scotties, except there are only 8 teams in each so rankings go from 8 to 1.  The Grand Aggregate is "winner takes all".

We have 17 entries in the men's pool, 15 in the women's, and 14 in the Grand Aggregate.  Spreadsheet is here.

Rules:
1.  Rank men's and womens teams separately (if applicable).
2a.  Give the team you feel will have the most wins an 8 and the least wins a 1.
2b.  Your score is determined by multiplying the ranking by the number of wins during the round
robin, and adding them up...  PLUS 6 points if your top-ranked team wins the final, 3 points
if your top-ranked team loses the final, or 1 point if your top ranked team places 3rd in the playoffs.
The playoff points are for your top-ranked team ONLY.  No points for your 2nd, 3rd, or lower ranked
teams making the playoffs.
3.  Entry fee is $30 per pool.
4.  Payout for each will be:  1st - 60%, 2nd - 30%, 3rd - 10%.  $30 will go to a person who
gets last place alone, if they finish above Lady Random.  The $30 will be taken off the
total prize money before the above percentages
are calculated.  In the case of 40 or more
entries, the prize money will be 1st - 50%, 2nd - 25%,
3rd 15%, 4th - 10%.
5.  Results are based on round robin and playoffs only... tiebreakers are not included.
6.  Entry fee must be in my hands (or one of my associates) before the start of the 1st draw.
7.  You may email, fax, phone, drop-off, or use whatever method you wish to get your picks to me
but they will not be accepted after the start of the first draw.
8.  I will pick my rankings and email them to someone else before looking at any of your picks.
9.  I will post everyones rankings on this page after they are all received.
10.  Keep this page bookmarked for updates and results.
11. Ties:  If there is a tie for 1st or 2nd the prize money will be split equally.  If there is a tie
for 3rd place only, the tie will be broken to determine who will get 3rd place alone.  To break
the tie the top ranked teams for each person in the tie will be looked at.  First of all, person
with the top-ranked team that does better in the playoffs will be awarded 3rd place.   After
that the head to head round robin records will be taken into account.
For example, if person A ranked Sask as 12 and person B ranked Manitoba as 12, then
if Sask beat Man in the round robin person A would get 3rd place.  If they both had the same
team ranked as 12, then you would look at who they ranked 11, then 10, etc.
If more than 2 people are tied for third, then the same scheme is used but you may have to
eliminate people one by one.  For example, if person A and B picked Sask as 12, and person
C picked Man as 12, then if Sask beat Man in the round robin person C is eliminated and we
look at who A and B rated as 11.  If Manitoba beat Sask in the round robin then person C would
get 3rd place.
I hope that made sense to you, it does to me.  If you want more explanation please let me know.
12.  No entry will be accepted after the start of the first draw.
